Russell’s Reserve 6 Year Old Rye Whiskey is Wild Turkey’s age-stated Kentucky rye: six years in No. 4 alligator-char barrels pulled from the center cut of the rickhouse, bottled at 90 proof. The mash is the distillery’s rye recipe — rye with enough corn that caramel and almond show beside the spice. Six years in deep char is what you taste as roasted almond, vanilla, and dried fruit rather than sharp young grain. It is built for a spirit-forward cocktail.
