Seelbach’s Private Reserve Double Stacked Maple Finished Bourbon Whiskey Release 001 blends two states and two maple casks: 8-year 6-month Kentucky bourbon finished 14 months in Bissell Farm maple barrels, and 5-year 9-month Indiana bourbon finished in brûléed maple barrels for 3 and 6 months. The maple comes from used syrup casks, so sticky-bun sweetness sits on pepper and leather. Limited to 900 bottles at 111 proof. Keep it for a weeknight pour.
White pepper, almond, vanilla bean, and turbinado open before maple fudge and chocolate cherry show. The sip is a sticky bun: molasses, fresh-baked bread, and pecan, thick without turning syrupy. Leather and black pepper cut the sweetness on a medium finish.
