The Glenlivet Fusion Cask Selection Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the limited Rum & Bourbon Fusion Cask release: coopers dismantle first-fill rum barrels and first-fill bourbon barrels and rebuild them into hybrid casks, so a selected portion of the malt finishes in both woods at once. Vanilla custard and coconut from the bourbon staves meet rum-cane sweetness at 80 proof. It holds in a spirit-forward cocktail.
Apricot and peach lead, with fresh apple and toffee-covered banana filling a smooth sip. Orange, coconut, and cinnamon stand out on the palate. Sweet orange hangs on a smooth, medium finish.
