The Prisoner Pinot Noir
Dry, rich and lush, with a savory edge. This is a medium- to full-bodied Pinot Noir with more depth and weight than most. The nose shows ripe cranberry and dried black cherry, with floral notes, mocha and a touch of leather. The palate brings juicy black cherry and warm spice over an earthy minerality. Oak adds a soft, rounded texture. The tannins are gentle and the finish is long, with cardamom and clove.
The Prisoner Wine Company crafts this Pinot Noir in the bold, generous style of its famous Napa red blend. The fruit is drawn from two cool-climate corners of the Sonoma Coast: the Russian River Valley, with its diverse soils and morning fog, and the wind-swept Petaluma Gap, known for wines with a distinct coastal minerality. The wine is 100% Pinot Noir, aged in French oak and bottled at 14.5% ABV in a 750 mL bottle.
Serve slightly cool, around 60–62°F, with roast duck, pork tenderloin or mushroom risotto.
