Westland American Single Malt Whiskey is the Seattle Flagship: Washington pale, Munich, extra special, pale chocolate, and brown malt, fermented 96 to 144 hours on Belgian brewer’s yeast, then matured at least 40 months in Cooper’s Reserve American oak, first-fill bourbon, and oloroso hogsheads and butts so custard and marionberry sit beside black tea. Bottled at 92 proof. Pour it as a weeknight malt.
Custard filling and marionberry compote lead, with maple brittle and toasted marshmallow filling a lush sip. Almond nougat and crème brûlée stand out on the palate. Black tea and white flowers hang on a dry, lingering finish.
