Westland Sherry Wood American Single Malt Whiskey is Seattle five-malt spirit matured in ex-Oloroso and ex-Pedro Ximénez casks from Tonelería del Sur in Montilla, Spain, with new American oak in the mix. Those Spanish casks pull dried fruit and pastry sweetness over Westland’s roasted malt. Bottled at 92 proof. Pour it when dessert is done.
Vanilla custard and dried dark fruit lead, then cocoa and baking spice fill the middle. Raisin, honey, and cherry stand out on the palate. The finish is rich and warm, with malt still in view under the sherry.
