Wild Turkey Master’s Keep Cornerstone Straight Rye Whiskey is the fourth Master's Keep and the distillery's first rye in that series: Eddie Russell's 9- to 11-year Kentucky rye (52% rye, 36% corn, 12% malted barley) aged in new #4 alligator-char oak and bottled at 109 proof (54.5% ABV). Extra years in heavy char give honey, baked apple, and black pepper real chew. Pour it when rye spice should warm the room.
Vanilla, black pepper, and toasted rye lead, with honey and baked apple filling a dense, oily sip. Dark fruit and baking spice stand out on the palate; spice and oak linger on a long, crisp finish.
