Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection Madeira Cask Finish Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the 2024 20th Master’s Collection: bourbon, rye, and wheat finished more than three years in Portuguese Madeira casks, then blended with fruit-forward Kentucky straight wheat whiskey. The Madeira wood lays dried fruit, spice, and walnut onto the mash; the extra wheat keeps that fruit from turning candy-sweet. Bottled at 90.4 proof (45.2% ABV) in 700 mL. Dark cherry, brown sugar, and candied orange open, with clove and nutmeg behind them. Raisin, dried cranberry, and walnut stand out on the palate; the sip is fruit-forward with a lighter mouthfeel, and the finish runs long on candied walnut, tobacco, and dark cocoa.
