Woodinville Moscatel Cask Finished Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a limited Washington bourbon from Woodinville Whiskey Co.: grain-to-glass flagship whiskey from Omlin Family Farm corn, rye, and barley, aged in Central Washington, then finished in 10-year-old 200-gallon Moscatel de Setúbal pipes from Portugal. The 72% corn, 22% rye mash plus that sweet fortified-wine wood puts apricot, orange peel, and honey in the glass, bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV). It is a dessert pour.
Dried apricot and orange peel lead, with honey, toffee, and cherry filling a syrupy, rich sip. Candied ginger and cocoa stand out on the palate; fennel, stone fruit, and a lingering sweet-spice finish close the pour.
