Yellowstone 2022 Limited Edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is Stephen Beam’s three-age blend for the brand’s 150th year: 7-year, 15-year, and 16-year Kentucky straight bourbon, with select 7-year barrels finished in Marsala Superiore casks, bottled at 101 proof (50.5% ABV). Marsala Superiore is Sicily’s fortified wine, aged a minimum of two years; those casks add dried apricot, honey, walnut, and dates to the extra-aged barrels’ dark brown sugar and vanilla. Limestone Branch bottled 10,000 three-bottle cases. Keep it for a celebration pour.
Dried apricot and dark brown sugar open, with cherry, walnut, and dates behind them. Maple, tobacco, and chocolate stand out on the palate; the mouthfeel is silky and coating, and the finish runs long on cinnamon, palm sugar, and tamarind.
