Alma del Jaguar Barricas Vino de Naranja Cask Añejo Tequila
Cooked agave leads, sweet and earthy the way it smells coming out of the oven, with orange zest right behind it. That citrus runs the length of the pour and gives the añejo a brightness you don't always get after a year in wood. Vanilla and caramel fill in underneath, and oak sits at the back without taking over.
This is Blue Weber agave from Los Altos, the highland side of Jalisco, aged a year in American oak and then finished in ex-Vino de Naranja casks. At 88 proof (44% ABV) it drinks easy but keeps its shape. Additive free, so what's in the bottle is agave, wood and time.
An honest everyday añejo — good neat, and steady enough to hold up in a cocktail if that's how you drink tequila. 750 mL.
