Ardbeg Arrrrrrrdbeg is the 2021 Committee bottle at 103.6 proof, a send-off for distillery manager Mickey Heads, and the first Ardbeg matured entirely in ex-rye casks. Rye wood on this peat is the reason it exists — gunpowder and smoked banana instead of bourbon-cask citrus.
Gunpowder, smoked banana, pear, vanilla, and spice, then aniseed and sourdough with long gentle smoke. Hot and peppery before the fruit comes through.
