Armand de Brignac Brut Gold Champagne
At 12.5% ABV, this is Champagne with weight behind the bubbles rather than just brightness. Stone fruit leads — ripe peach and apricot, generous but clean — with red berries flickering underneath and citrus keeping the whole thing lifted. Extended lees aging in the traditional method shows in the brioche and vanilla that fill out the mid-palate, and a thread of honey lingers once the fruit has faded.
The blend draws on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, assembled across more than one harvest rather than tied to a single year. That gives it consistency and a rounder shape than a leaner style: fruit-forward without being sweet, rich without going heavy.
Serve it properly chilled in a tulip glass rather than a flute, which lets the aromatics open up. The 750 mL bottle pours enough for a table of friends, and it drinks as easily on a Thursday as it does at a celebration.
