Cazcanes makes this No. 9 Rosa as an unaged blanco, additive free, from Blue Weber agave grown in Jalisco. Nothing sits between the agave and the bottle, and it shows: cooked agave leads, sweet and vegetal, with citrus zest cutting across it.
Underneath there's more weight than a blanco usually carries. Caramel and dark chocolate give the body some depth, and ripe fruit and warm spice trail off at the end. At 100 proof (50% ABV) it has real heat, but the texture stays soft rather than sharp, which keeps it drinkable straight from the freezer or over a single large cube.
This is a good bottle to keep on hand. It stands up in a margarita without disappearing behind the lime, and it's honest enough to sip on its own. The 750 mL bottle is the everyday size.
