Dewar’s 15 Year Old Special Reserve Blended Scotch Whisky is the core 15-year blend also sold as The Monarch: up to thirty malt and grain whiskies, with Aberfeldy’s heather-honey in the mix, matured in sherry and bourbon casks and married again in oak. That extra three years and the sherry share are why it drinks richer and more floral, still at 80 proof. Fits a cold-weather night as easily as an after-dinner dram.
Honeyed fruit, vanilla, and soft florals lead. Green apple, citrus, and chewy toffee sit on a silky, nutty palate, and the finish is gently smoky with dried fruit still in it.
