Start with a small pour, and add a splash of water if you want to soften the intensity. At 120 proof (60% ABV), this cask-strength rum drinks with plenty of weight. Cranberry and red cherry bring a tart, juicy edge, while cinnamon adds warmth and cocoa gives the finish a darker turn.
Distilled in 2009 in Barbados, it spent 12 years in ex-Bourbon barrels. That extended maturation allows the fruit and spice to sit comfortably beside the rum’s firm structure. It is additive free, keeping the focus on the character developed during aging and its full cask strength. This is a robust pour that benefits from slow sipping, with enough concentration to remain expressive after a little dilution.
