From Los Altos, Jalisco, Fuenteseca Reserva Extra Añejo Tequila is an additive-free expression made from Blue Weber agave. Distilled in 2003, it spent a total of 18 years in Canadian white oak ex-rye and European red-wine casks. Bottled at 87 proof (43.5% ABV), it comes in a 750 mL bottle.
Brown sugar gives the opening a dense, dark sweetness rather than a light candied note. Brandied pear and dark cherry bring two distinct shades of mature fruit, one rounded and one deeper. Roasted almond draws the finish into savory territory and gives the close a firmer edge. Serve it neat and slowly, in a pour small enough to revisit as it opens.
