Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the Solera Fifteen, bottled at 80 proof after at least fifteen years in bourbon casks, sherry casks, and new American oak. David Stewart’s vat — kept at least half full since 1998 — marries those three woods, then Portuguese oak tuns finish the blend. New oak is the extra layer the 12 never sees; the Solera vat is the step the 18 never takes. A strong pick for sipping with friends.
Heather honey and vanilla fudge open with dark fruit, then sherry oak, marzipan, cinnamon, and ginger fill a silky mid-palate. The finish is rich and lingering-sweet rather than dry.
