This is a bold, earthy rum. From Herrera, Panama, Grander spends 8 months in American white oak barrels previously used for Kentucky rye whiskey. The cask finish gives the spirit a clear point of distinction while keeping its identity straightforward: Panamanian rum finished in former rye barrels. It is additive free.
At 100 proof (50% ABV), it has enough presence to stand up in a mixed drink while remaining suited to sipping. Cooked fruit and molasses form a dark, rounded core, with vanilla bringing a softer note. Peppery spice gives the finish a lively edge. The 750 mL size works well for a home bar, served neat, over ice, or in rum cocktails that call for a stronger base.
