Jefferson’s Reserve Very Old Bourbon Whiskey is the Zoellers’ small-batch Reserve: four Kentucky bourbon recipes of different ages, drawn from just eight to twelve barrels so older stocks — some well into a second decade — can set caramel, tobacco, and minty barrel character against fresher spice. Proofed with limestone water to 90.2, it drinks richer than that number suggests. A weeknight pour that still feels considered.

Deep caramel and vanilla lead, with cinnamon, dried orchard fruit, and rye spice. Toffee and orange peel fill a viscous sip, then leather and a little tobacco. The finish is long and warming: chewy caramel, white pepper, mint, and citrus peel.
