Old Forester Birthday Bourbon 2025 is the limited 25th Birthday Bourbon: 210 barrels distilled April 5, 2013, aged 12 years on floors 1 and 5 of warehouse K, bottled at 92 proof. This lot was fermented as a sweet mash — fresh yeast only, no setback from a prior ferment — so the yeast's tea and orchard notes stay in the whiskey. The mash is 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley. Keep it for a long evening pour.
Herbal tea, cardamom, and green apple lead, with tropical fruit and vanilla behind them. Silky oak and sweet citrus meet clove in a supple body. The finish is candied apple and burnt sugar into leather and chai spice.
