Old Fourth Double Cask No. 2 Maple Syrup Finish Bourbon Whiskey is a limited single-barrel bourbon from Old Fourth Distillery in Atlanta: MGP whiskey aged there at least six years, then finished more than a year in a maple syrup cask so real maple sweetness wraps the caramel and spice. Bottled at barrel proof, this release is 112 proof (56% ABV). Keep it for an after-dinner dram when you want that maple in the glass.
Maple and caramel lead, with vanilla and brown sugar filling the middle. Baking spice and toasted oak stand out on the palate; the mouthfeel is thick, almost syrupy, and the finish holds maple sweetness against a little rye spice.
