A bourbon finished in French orange Curaçao casks, which is exactly as unusual as it sounds. The whiskey spent seven to eight years in the barrel before that final stretch, long enough to build real weight, and the finishing cask leaves its mark plainly rather than as a whisper.
Honey and caramel lead, thick and sweet, but the sweetness never gets away from itself. Bitter orange peel cuts through and keeps everything bright, while vanilla softens the edges underneath. The close is warm with baking spice and toasted oak, dry enough to make you want another sip. At 110 proof, there is heat here, though it sits comfortably alongside the sugar rather than fighting it.
Distilled in 2018 and bottled at 750 mL. Neat is the way to meet it first; an ice cube opens the orange considerably if you want it to stretch across an evening.
