The GlenDronach Port Wood Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a limited ten-year malt from the Valley of Forgue: Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks first, then three years in Douro Valley Port pipes chosen by Rachel Barrie. That second maturation is the cherry-wood colour and the extra layer of plum and blackberry on the house sherry fruit, bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV) without chill filtration or added colour. It is an after-dinner dram.
Victoria plum, bramble, and strawberry jam lead, then blackberry, roasted apple crumble, and gingerbread fill a chewy, fruit-heavy sip. Baked orange and black cherry stand out on the palate; orange peel, sultana, and cherry cake linger into a richly fruity finish.
