Bulleit Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is Bulleit’s bonded bourbon from its Shelbyville distillery, bottled at 100 proof. The Bottled-in-Bond Act ties it to one distillery and one distilling season and asks for at least 4 years in a bonded warehouse. Bulleit aged it 7 years, on the high-rye bill of 68 percent corn, 28 percent rye, and 4 percent malted barley. Those extra years leave maple and nutmeg in the same sip as rye spice. It is a limited seasonal release.
Toasted oak, caramel, and maple open it, with nutmeg and baking spice on a weighty, creamy body. Dark fruit shows up with them, cherry on the current brand card and baked apple in the first-release review. Butterscotch and rye spice carry a smooth finish.
