Ferrari-Carano Trésor Red Blend
Dry, dark, polished and full. This is a full-bodied Bordeaux-style red with ripe fruit and smooth structure. The nose shows cassis, dark cherry, cedar and cola, with a floral lift. The palate brings plum, black cherry and wild berry. Toasty oak adds chocolate, caramel and toffee notes. The tannins are smooth and rounded, and the finish is long and plummy.
Trésor, French for “treasure,” is Ferrari-Carano’s finest red blend and its take on the five classic Bordeaux varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, with Cabernet Sauvignon making up the large majority. The grapes come from top blocks in Knights, Alexander, Dry Creek and Napa valleys, and the blend is aged in new and older French oak. It is bottled at 14.8% ABV in a 750 mL bottle.
Drinks well now and can age for a decade. Decant for 30 minutes and serve with roast lamb, braised beef or duck.
