From Fiji in the South Pacific, this single-barrel rum was distilled in 2004 and aged for 17 years. It spent 12 years in tropical ex-bourbon oak, followed by 5 years in American oak under continental conditions. The two-stage maturation gives the rum a long view of oak influence across contrasting climates.
At 116 proof (58% ABV), it is bottled at cask strength, with banana and coconut forming a generous tropical core. Caramel rounds the palate, while oak brings a firm close. This additive-free rum comes in a 750 mL bottle. Its strength stands up to a large cube, which can soften the pour without obscuring its ripe character.
