Cooked agave leads, sweet and vegetal, with vanilla settling in right behind it. Toasted almond gives the middle some texture, and there's a dried-fruit sweetness underneath that keeps things from turning too dry. Cinnamon and oak carry the close, warm rather than sharp.
This is a single barrel from Jalisco, made from Blue Weber agave and matured for a year in a privately selected American and French oak cask. At 80 proof (40% ABV) it stays easy to drink, soft enough that the agave never gets buried under the wood. The two oak types pull in slightly different directions, which is part of what gives it that nutty, spiced edge.
A straightforward sipping tequila that works just as well in a slow, spirit-forward cocktail. The 750 mL bottle is the standard pour size for a home bar shelf.
