Mumm Napa Prestige Cuvée
Dry, crisp, fruity and toasty. This is a medium-bodied Brut sparkling wine with bright red-fruit character and a fine mousse. The nose shows red apple, cherry and orange peel, with fresh-baked bread. The palate brings plum, cherry, red apple and peach. Toasty bread notes add depth. The acidity is lively, and the finish is long and clean.
Mumm Napa was founded by the Champagne house G.H. Mumm, which sent winemaker Guy Devaux to Napa Valley in the late 1970s to find vineyards suited to sparkling wine. Prestige Cuvée is the winery’s Napa Valley–appellated tribute to its home. It is a blend of 49% Pinot Noir, 46% Chardonnay, 4% Pinot Gris and 1% Pinot Meunier. Made in the traditional method, with second fermentation in bottle, it is finished as a Brut with about 10 g/L dosage. It is bottled at 12.5% ABV in a 750 mL bottle.
Drink within two to three years, well chilled, with charcuterie or roast chicken.
