My Favorite Neighbor Blanc Chardonnay
Dry, rich and bright, with a mineral edge. This is a full-bodied Chardonnay with ripe fruit and a satiny texture. The nose shows Meyer lemon, yellow apple and Asian pear, with flint, vanilla and nutmeg. The palate brings citrus, stone fruit and a creamy note of crème fraîche and toffee. French oak adds toast and warm spice. Juicy acidity and a saline streak carry a long, mineral finish.
My Favorite Neighbor is the project of farmer-winemaker Eric Jensen of Booker Vineyard in Paso Robles, made with fruit from top sites farmed by friends in the local growing community. This 100% Chardonnay comes from very coastal vineyards in San Luis Obispo County, where marine conditions preserve freshness and minerality. It is made at Booker’s solar-powered winery without concentrates or shortcuts, aged in French oak barrels, and bottled in a 750 mL bottle.
Serve lightly chilled rather than ice cold. It pairs well with roast chicken, lobster, scallops or creamy pasta.
