Sonoma-Cutrer Grand Brut Rosé
Dry, crisp and delicate, with a fine, lively bead. This is a light- to medium-bodied Brut rosé sparkling wine. The nose shows hibiscus, sour red cherry and a hint of watermelon rind. Fresh brioche and mandarin follow. The palate brings mandarin, kumquat, citrus and light cherry. A touch of wet-stone minerality adds lift. The acidity is bright, and the finish is clean and refreshing.
Grand Brut Rosé is part of Sonoma-Cutrer’s small-production Winemaker’s Release series, crafted by Pinot Noir winemaker Zidanelia Arcidiacono. It blends 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay from two of the winery’s Russian River Valley estate vineyards, Owsley Estate and Vine Hill Ranch. The wine is made in the traditional method, with its second fermentation in the bottle, as in Champagne. It is bottled at 12% ABV in a 750 mL bottle.
Serve well chilled in a tulip glass. It pairs nicely with fresh oysters, goat cheese or fruit tarts.
