The Prisoner Red Blend 750ml
Dry, dark, opulent and plush. This is a full-bodied red blend with ripe fruit and a soft, round texture. The nose shows blackberry, cranberry and dried plum, with caramelized vanilla, nutmeg and toasted coconut. The palate brings red and black fruit with integrated sweet spice. Oak adds a creamy, toasty richness. The tannins are soft, and the finish is smooth and lingering.
The Prisoner helped define the modern California red blend. It draws on the “mixed blacks” tradition of early Italian immigrants in Napa Valley, building around Zinfandel with Petite Sirah, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec sourced from vineyards across California. The wine is aged in a mix of new and used oak barrels and bottled at 15.2% ABV in a 750 mL bottle.
Built to enjoy on release. Serve slightly below room temperature with barbecued ribs, grilled sausages or aged cheddar.
