Bruichladdich The Organic 2011 Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a single-vintage bottling from the Barley Provenance series, aged 11 years and bottled at 100 proof. The grain is organic Publican barley from Mid Coul farm near Inverness, grown without artificial fertilizer, then trickle-distilled in Bruichladdich’s tall stills. 11 years in first-fill bourbon casks on Islay put vanilla and fudge on a spirit that stays floral and fruity.
Vanilla fudge and honeyed citrus open the glass. Ripe pear, melon, and toasted oak come in behind them. Barley sugar rides a viscous, creamy texture. A coastal salt shows through, and the finish stays smooth on citrus and oak.
