This is a strong, straightforward Barbados rum. Distilled in 2011 and aged for 11 years in a once-used Bourbon barrel, it brings together a clear sense of origin and extended maturation. As a single-barrel release, the rum comes from one individual barrel rather than a blend drawn from several.
Bottled at 119.6 proof (59.8% ABV), it has substantial strength and can be approached in several ways. A small pour neat shows the spirit at full intensity, while a large cube can gradually soften the concentration. It can also stand up well in a simple rum cocktail where a lower-proof pour might recede. The 750 mL size is standard and practical for the home bar.
