Sonoma-Cutrer Russian River Ranches Chardonnay
Meyer lemon and lime zest keep this Chardonnay crisp, while Bosc pear and pineapple round the middle. Dry and medium- to full-bodied, with a velvety texture and crisp acidity, it still wants a light chill. Toasted almonds and white pepper leave a long, mineral finish.
Russian River Ranches is Sonoma-Cutrer’s founding cuvée, blending lots from six estate vineyards and select Sonoma Coast growers. Grapes are harvested in cool mornings, whole-cluster pressed and fermented in a mix of French oak and stainless steel. The wine is 100% Chardonnay with full malolactic fermentation and nine months of sur-lie aging in French oak (75% oak, 25% tank). Bottled at about 14.1% ABV in a 750 mL bottle.
Serve lightly chilled with crab, roast poultry or creamy seafood pastas.
